It won’t be long now till we reopen for the summer. May 12th is our reopen date and it is also the opening day of our Farmers Market (www.barrhavenfarmersmarket.com). The Log Farm site will be open Saturdays & Sundays 9:00-4:00 and Wednesday May 16th will mark the return of our weekly (Wednesday’s) Toddler Time.
Our second Sugar Bush season is over and we just wanted to say thanks to all those who visited over the past 5 weeks. It’s been very busy and lots of syrup made, so we call it a success. We will be closed now until May 12th when we reopen for the summer. May 12th is also the launch of our second annual Farmers Market.
This is it folks, our last weekend of Sugar Bush (April 7th & 8th). We’ve been having a great year for syrup and hope it continues through this weekend. If we make it above freezing the sap will be running and the evaporator will be making more delicious syrup. We still have some of our very own 2018 syrup for sale in the store but hurry supplies are limited. Don’t forget we reopen for the summer May 12th with the launch of this years farmers market.
We are open today (Easter Monday) 9:30-4:00. By the looks of the forecast it will be a nice day, so stop by and enjoy the sweet smells of sugar bush in the spring.
The long weekend is upon us. We will be open Good Friday, Saturday the 31st and Easter Monday. All 3 days the hours are 9:30-4:00. The weather looks favourable for lots of sap to be running and we’ll be making syrup hopefully. Don’t forget if it is running you can grab a pail and go and collect some sap and enjoy a beautiful walk in the bush. For full details go to the Sugar Bush tab under the menu at the top of the page. A word of advice, with all this rain the farm is very muddy so please dress accordingly.
The forecast for this weekend (March 24th & 25th) looks beautiful. We will be open Saturday and Sunday from 9:30am – 4:00pm. If Mother Nature cooperates and it’s above O’C sap will be running and we’ll be making syrup. The wagon ride takes you to the bush and if the sap is running grab a bucket and enjoy some time in the bush and collect sap. After all that hard work enjoy a taffy on the snow ($3, cash only) and relax by the bonfire. At the farm site – step back in time and check out the historic house and outbuildings and the farm animals are always a hit with the kids. Hungry? grab an authentic Beavertail and sit at one of the many picnic tables and enjoy! Don’t forget to pick up some of our fresh 2018 maple syrup in the Visitors Center.
Mother nature has usfroze up again. We are open today from 9:30 AM till 4 PM. It is a very frosty day so if you’re venturing out please remember to dress warm. And once again it is unfortunately too cold today for sap to be running.
